Welcome to GP Kids Ministry!
Our mission is investing in the lives of children and their families in Milwaukie and beyond through the love of Jesus Christ! We’re excited to partner with you on your kids’ faith journey of discovering who Jesus is and learning of His unfailing love for us! We are committed to helping your child develop an understanding of how He is in our everyday life and how His Word guides us to live life each day.
SUNDAY CHILDREN'S PROGRAMING FAQ'S
We offer classes for all kids (birth-5th grade) during our 9:30am service. Children's check-in and classrooms are located in the Family Wing (West end of the building).
CHECK-IN
When you enter the Family Wing lobby, you will be greeted by one of our friendly volunteers who will help you quickly and easily get your children checked-in and answer any questions you may have. If it’s your first time visiting us, we do have a short form for you to fill out so that we can offer the best Sunday experience for your child and to keep them safe.
Safety for your child is always a top priority for us, and our check-in system will create a name tag for your child to wear on their back and a secure tag for you to pick them up with. It will also help us know how to accommodate any special physical, medical, or dietary needs your child may have.
VOLUNTEERS
All of our trained leaders have been background checked and are ready and excited to teach and love our children, modeling Christ’s love and fostering a safe, welcoming and fun environment for our students.
CLASSROOMS
NURSERY: BIRTH – 36 MONTHS
We have wonderful volunteers waiting to play with and love on your little one. We recommend all little ones bring their own diaper bag with sippy cup and diapers. However, if you forgot your diaper bag – no worries, we’ve got you covered! We strongly encourage all families to label their child’s belongings, but we can offer sticky labels for diaper bags if needed.
3 YEARS – KINDERGARTEN
In our preschool class our children will be introduced to Jesus through age appropriate bible stories, songs, and crafts. As well, there is an extended amount of time for free play, to allow our younger children time to learn how to grow and build friendships in a safe and loving environment.
1ST – 5TH GRADE
Our elementary children start out the service with their grown-up in the whole church Worship Service. At GracePointe, we value intergenerational worship and want our children to know they are part of the body of Christ and as such, want them to participate in worship, prayer, communion and fellowship with the whole church body. After the first 20 minutes, the children will be dismissed from the service to meet their teachers in the lobby and head down to their age appropriate classes. All children should be checked-in before the start of service at our check-in desk.
Our elementary classes are located in the lower level of the Family Wing. Our teachers use The Gospel Project curriculum. With this curriculum our students are engaging in Christ-centered, chronological bible study.
Upcoming Midweek
Kids Program
Breakout is our mid-week elementary ministry where we gather together and dig a little deeper into what it means to live for God. Join us for a fun time playing together, praying together, and studying God’s word together!
